The Picnic Project is a standing invitation to big tables, open arms, hope and abundance – because no one has to be hungry or lonely.

Our Chef works hard to provide unique nutrition-rich, wholesome meals. Healthy food fuels positive, strong minds and bodies who can then focus on progressing to better circumstances. Each meal is carefully thought out and restaurant quality. Our Chef prepares meals he would share with a friend!

We offer a closet with a wide-range of apparel suitable for men, women and children. Clothing is received and offered on a donation basis.

It’s easy to take for granted the comfort and confidence that comes from a safe place, a roof over your head, a hot meal. We try to offer more than food, we want to offer something to look forward to every Sunday. A safe place to relax and enjoy a meal. Peace and comfort for an hour, where we can serve you.

Many people in the homeless community are there because they’ve reached the end of other services and have no other resources available to them. They are the invisible citizens who are ever-present in every single patch of land around the world. If you have ever felt invisible or forgotten, literally pushed out by society, imagine what it would feel like to see people who care for you and your well-being.

Our volunteers are all-ages, from all walks of life, joined together by the simple fact that we see, we care, and we’re doing something about it.

If you believe, as we do, that all humans deserve safekeeping, loving kindness and to never be forgotten, we need your help. There are so many ways to be of service and every grain of help nourishes so many. We are grateful for anything you can offer. There is nothing too small.

If you are interested in volunteering  or being involved in any way,  please email us. If you would like to visit… we are located at The Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church of Sanford at the corner of S. Magnolia Ave. and E. 5th St., Downtown Sanford (just look for the playground!!).

Devoting 90 minutes of your time has a positive and heart warming impact on the community that you serve. We are kid friendly!  We encourage you to bring your children and inspire them to give back to their community.

(All children must be accompanied by an adult).

The Picnic Project is a nonprofit organization located in the heart of downtown Sanford, Florida. BEFORE COVID, we shared hot healthy meals to 75-150 of our friends, neighbors and community every Sunday. CURRENTLY, we are doing a walk-up grocery distribution two days a week to better assist our community and maintain safety measures.

We are a licensed 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We operate out of a licensed kitchen with catering certification. We are an equal opportunity provider. ALL ARE WELCOME.

The Picnic Project is a 100% volunteer organization. All money raised comes from individuals donations or sponsors and it goes directly towards helping those in need.

Thanks to you and the hard work of volunteers and generous individuals who provide the vast majority of our financial support, we can provide healthy quality meals to over 400 people every month!
