There’s plenty of food to go around. Help make sure everyone in Sanford has access.

Become a contributing member of The Plenty, a community of helping hands making food accessible to everyone who needs it.

Just $44 per month provides a week’s worth of groceries for two families.

No one should have to choose between buying groceries or paying rent

But here in Sanford, many of our neighbors who are most vulnerable are one flat tire or sick day away from having to make that choice.

Just one free bag of groceries can provide breathing room to a family facing food insecurity.

The Plenty is our way of ensuring there’s always enough food for everyone. Because that’s what community is for.

Well-fed. Well-respected. Well-loved.
That’s our promise.

It’s been nearly 15 years since Picnic Project co-founders Mark and Ryan first started feeding neighbors in need out of abandoned buildings and parks here in Sanford.

More than one million pounds of food later, we’ve become a trusted resource for people who are hungry not just for food, but for a sense of belonging.

The main ingredient of our success is the community of volunteers, partners, and participants who show up and serve every day. They’re living proof of the power of coming together and making room at the table.

We’d love to have you—we even saved you a seat.

Become a part of something bigger

When you join The Plenty, you’re not only supporting a worthy cause—you’re also becoming a member of our family. (No, really. Expect an invite to the next cookout and other members-only events!)

Plus, your support helps us:

Put food on the table

Program participants receive a free bag of groceries—including fresh produce and frozen meat—each week, easing the financial burden and providing immediate relief from food insecurity.

Create lasting health impact

To break the cycle of poor health outcomes due to financial insecurity, we’re going upstream by providing monthly wellness programming that promotes longevity and well-being.

Build strong community ties

The challenges our participants face can be isolating. Our work is as much about fostering connection as it is about making sure members are well-fed. Full plates and hearts is our goal.
